About The Artist - Papercraft

Born from a keen interest in art at school, my creative activities have always been an important part of my life. I was born in London and have, since then, lived and worked in Angus, Perthshire, Fife, Oxfordshire and East Anglia. Although self-taught, I have attended art courses and community workshops throughout my life. I like to share my work with others and have sold through Art events, Craft Fayres, local exhibitions and word of mouth.

My paintings and my craft work are inspired by what I see around me, sometimes captured by my own photography and then re-created by my own interpretation of that vision. Subjects range from landscapes, seascapes and gardens, to people, flowers and wildlife. I like to experiment with different mediums and attempt to capture not only the immediate visual impression of what I see, but also the atmosphere.

I have always had a passion for paper, its qualities, colours and texture and the various folding techniques which can create perspective. I also marble my own papers, some of which I have used in my picture-making, along with some of my favourite folding techniques such as iris folding and quilling. On this site, you will find some examples of my recent paper craft work, which I have great pleasure in sharing with you.
